Prototype firstDescendant() Method

This method returns the first child that is an element. This is opposed to firstChild DOM property which will return any node.

Syntax:

element.firstDescendant();

Return Value:

  • It returns an HTML element

Example:

   desc = $('grandfather').firstDescendant();
