I’m currently working on a project that scrapes or mines data from other websites. If you are unfimiliar with the term scraping or mining what it means is gathering data, for example products and prices, from websites, storing them and using the collected data in your own way.

I have chosen Ruby to write it in because I find the language very easy to bash things together quickly and easy to debug. It helps tremendiously being easy to debug as you will encounter many problems in a short amount of time inititaly getting your program to scrape succesfully.   More detail...
