Definition and Usage

Returns a lowercased version of EXPR, or $_ if EXPR is omitted.

Return Value

    Lowercased version of EXPR

Example

Try out following example, copy and past this example into test.pl file and then verify the result:

#!/usr/bin/perl

$orig_string = "This is Test and CAPITAL";

$changed_string = lc( $orig_string );

print "Changes String is : $changed_string\n";

It will produce following result

Changes String is : this is test and capital
