PERL uc Function
Syntax
Definition and Usage
Returns an uppercased version of EXPR, or $_ if not specified. Check ucfirst() function which will return only first character in uppercase.
Return Value
Example
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
$string = 'the cat sat on the mat.';
$u_string = uc($string);
print "First String |$string|\n";
print "Second String |$u_string|\n";
|
It will produce following results:
First String |the cat sat on the mat.|
Second String |THE CAT SAT ON THE MAT.|
